Lives forever changed...

every once in a while you get the honor of meeting someone who lives for and by their convictions. truly. wholeheartedly. who inspires you to do the same. we lost a dear friend on the 10th. though it brings some peace knowing that dorothy has gone on to be with checkers..lady..ginger..and so many others that have gone before her... it still hurts. i've never been part of the horse world without her being a phone call away. she inspired my childhood dreams. she challenged my desires and ideas to help shape them into something solid. she taught, critisized and encouraged my teachers heart. she was tough...with a heart the size of the moon. she gave her entire life to the call on her heart to provide safe horses for kids so that their lives could be changed...and they were. thousands of them. with thousands more to come, through those that were changed by her, her horses and the Progressive Horsehmanship Program... "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." john 15:13

the viewing will be held Friday, March 13 from 2-4:30 at McKinney Funeral Home, 54 west main st., Youngsville, PA.

Ahhh...! A Change of Plans....

well..... i know that the Lord's ways are not our ways.... and we're to Not lean on our own understanding. lol.... that being said, i need to change this weekends work schedule. The whole deal with Cross Creek Farms is off. The owner of the property needs to put the place up for sale. His Barn will be staying right here on our precious little farm in Fort Mill/Indian Land. There are no hard feelings between Cross Creek and His Barn...this is just an interesting turn of events due to the economical issues around the globe!

SO.... if you're still interested in helping His Barn out Sunday, there is still a work day planned for Here at 8737 Whippoorwill Lane (where we've always been!). We're gonna get the property cleaned backed up, fix the fences, install a fence line between fields 2 & 3, and get ready to open back up to the public....wide open, unapologetic for the vision God's placed at the heart of this program, and completely dependent on the God that put it there!

So i hope you'll join us!!

i'll be in the barn around 11 till well after dark.... come if you can!

call me with your questions!!!

to Him be the Glory!!!!

LOL

love you all!!!

His Barn Moving to a 2nd Location!!!

Well it's been awhile...! Let's all get up to speed. :) His Barn has leased a barn in Waxhaw... a door that i have no doubt the Lord opened. It's a great story I'll share sometime about being specific with your requests to our ever so loving papa (gotta read The Shack if you haven't yet...!) ANYWAY - i will be going back to teaching lessons and taking out trail rides more full time again. The new place is at 2423 McWhorter Rd., Waxhaw, NC 28173. It's a rather large barn with box stalls (boy will That be different!), lights in the arena, quite a few trails and only 15.1 miles away from our current location! Of course it is in need of some TLC and some work equity... SO anyone looking for a good excuse to spend some time out doors working on a farm...let me know! There's a work day scheduled for Sunday, February 22 from about 10:30 a.m. till who knows when. We'll snack, work, play, & dream as we prepare a place for more & more people to come enjoy the beauty of horses and the relationships that can be built through them!
The plan is to move the horses in March to begin teaching over there. The farm in Fort Mill will stay open with small trail rides on the weekends taken out by Brian and I will teach in Waxhaw during the week and Saturdays. There aren't a whole lot of details worked out yet... I guess we'll just cross the bridges as they come!
Thank you So Much to everyone who has continued to support us! I know that y'all are praying for Brian & I and this crazy wonderful barn full of God's critters - it is not in vain! those prayers are working!!! thank you thank you thank you! :)

I'll keep you posted!

FALL FESTIVAL: NOV. 1st. 11 AM to 3 PM

Hey everyone, we're gearing up for our annual fall festival here at His Barn! We've got all sorts of fun stuff lined up for the event! Free entry, free music, free hot dogs! Pony rides, food, games, face painting & more.
Mark Rodenhauser, from The Cornerstone Ranch, will be back in the round pen again for a 1:00 Unbridled Presentation, as he shares some of the similarities between a horse's walk with his trainer and our walk with our God. Powerful. Life changing. A must see!!!
The festival is in need of some donations to help keep the cost of the event as low as possible. Our goal has always been for a family to be able to come out with a roll of quarters and enjoy a day of quality time with each other!
We are in need of:
water
pop (soda, as some of you may call it!)
baked goods for the bake sale
napkins
hot dog buns
hot chocolate
call us at the farm to let us know if you can help in any way!
A Giant thank you to Corban Christian Academy for sponsoring this year's fall festival!

!!!FUNDRAISER AT HIS BARN!!!

We need everyone's help!

We are hosting a fundraiser Here at His Barn Saturday, September 6, 2008 from 11-2.

Many of our customers know our neighbor Kenny who is always stopping in to say hello and check on things, as well as bringing us anything he thinks we (or you)can use. We've received everything from buckets (and MANY of them! lol!!) to apples & carrots to kareoke machines to bread & chips.

Kenny was diagnosed with cancer (large B-cell lymphomia) and we would like to do our part in helping he and his family out.

Again ..

The day will include

food and drinks for sale

$1.00 pony rides
